Privacy Policy

We process personal data only as far as running this website and answering your enquiry requires. No tracking, no advertising.

This English translation is provided for convenience; the German version is legally binding.

The controller responsible for data processing on this website within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

This website uses no analytics, tracking or advertising services. There are no embedded videos, maps or social media buttons. Fonts are delivered by our own server, so no connection to Google Fonts or similar services is made.

Personal data arises in only two places: in the server log files and when you send us an email. There is no contact form. What happens in each case is described in the following sections.

Hosting provider: to be added

When you open a page, your browser automatically sends technical data to our server. The server stores it in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of access
  • page or file requested and amount of data transferred
  • referrer URL, browser type, browser version and operating system

We need this data to deliver the website, find errors and fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not combine the data with other sources and delete it as soon as it is no longer needed for these purposes.

This website sets exactly one cookie: locale. It remembers for twelve months whether you read the website in German or English, so the home page greets you in that language. The cookie is technically necessary and requires no consent (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG), which is why there is no cookie banner.

Your choice between the light and dark appearance is kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage, key “theme”). This value stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it at any time via your browser’s site data.

When you send us an email, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message including attachments in order to answer your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry aims at a contract, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You are not obliged to give us any data. Without an email address, however, we cannot reply to you.

We delete your enquiry once it has been dealt with. If it leads to an assignment, we keep the business correspondence for as long as commercial and tax law require, six or ten years depending on the document.

You have the right to:

  • access the data we process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)

An informal email to us is enough. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg.

Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you can object to this at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
